TEST 1 2 December 2007: Vocabulary test on theme 1 (Use your head). Study the following: 1) Two articles ‘More children should be sent to grammars to tackle dire education system’ and ‘Labour`s school reforms haven`t helped the poor’ + the exercises I had prepared 2) Unit 1 from Focused on Advanced English (pp. 10-22) Homework exercises. 3) Unit 7-12 (pp. 32-43 All exercises (those I gave for homework and additional exercises which were not for homework) The format will be similar to what you are used to (matching, clozures, providing synonyms, understanding idioms, and using words in sentences, vocabulary in context. Time: 30 min. Marks: 30 TEST 2 16 December 2007: Vocabulary test on theme 2 (Severe weather conditions. Study the following: 1) Article titled ‘Europe reels from sizzle to swamp’ + the exercises I had prepared 2) Unit 2 from Focus on Advanced English (pp. 23-35) Homework exercises. The format will be similar to what you are used to (matching, clozures, providing synonyms, understanding idioms, and using words in sentences, vocabulary in context. Time: 30 min.
