Pyt.3. Charakterystyka bohaterów eposu i tragedii.
TRAGEDY
- the hero is normal and doesn’t change
- the audience is invited to identificate with the character
- the character can’t be unusual and he can’t be put into unreal situations
- at the end both bad or good character is expected to die but it can be surprise
- the character and the situation in which he is put, has a contact with present
EPIC
-the hero has to be heroic-superhero; intelligence, wisdom,sly, tactics (taktyka)
-the characters are fixed
-character is one sided, flat; no psychological debts
-the character can be unusual and be put into unreal situations (adventures of Odysseus were impossible)
-the character doesn’t have to die
-the character and the situation in which he is put don’t have a contact with present
- the hero is created to strengthen our (or sb’s) national pride an expression of national inheritage
Pyt.4. Podaj cechy tragedii greckiej.
Tragedy has two functions:
1. What dramatist has written(descriptive book)
2. Tells writers how to write(prescriptive book)
Tragedy is reflection of human life.
A good tragedy has 6 parts (qualitative)
1. Plot(limited by time and space
2. Character
3. Thought moral)
4. Diction
5. Music (associated with the chorus)
6. Scenery (the arrangements of the stage)
1. PLOT- series of action which leads to the tragic end
- has got three elements:
- peripety (perypetie)- series of adventures that
happens to the main character
- discovery- when the character realizes that he
made a mistake
- suffering-not only the mental suffering, also death
- unity of place, time and action
2. CHARACTER- high status comes from character, which comes from
the royal family
- character is one of us- no superman- we can identify with
characters
- they’re human beings-even kings die
- it has to be reason why he suffers, why he dies
( he makes mental mistakes, misjudgesHAMARTIA)
- in ancient tragedy at the beginning the character is
always a good mansomething happens-he turns into
a bad man
- character not always makes a mistake and then the
catharsis is bigger
3. THOUGHT- whatever message the author is trying to show us
4. DICTION- the group of words-language used by actors, it has to be literature language
5. MUSIC- in ancient tragedy there is chorusbecomes at the stage to comment, to say what has happened
6. SCENERY- elements which appear at the stage are outside the tragedy
- it is important
